This article is about basketball updates including the NBA, college, and basketball cards. Welcome to the web site of Sports Sites - a website with resources including basketball cards, baseball cards, cycling, sports news, popular sites, articles about all of these topics, and social networking for sports in general.

I am the owner and administrator of the site and I also own a great community for baseball  cards and sports cards
http://www.mybaseballcardspace.info
and one with cycling articles including ones about the Tour de France http://www.mycyclingadvice.info

Obviously, out of my favorite sites, baseball cards and cycling are my favorite subject for sports websites in general.  Thus, those two topics are featured in my listing of sports sites.  I do realize though, that many people want more discussion on sports in general and that is why this site will be different than those two sites.  It will bring together articles from those sites, as well as more articles from ESPN and ABC News, as well as articles I have highlighted in Digg as far as voting for them.

I also own one other site that was just started for selling products online
http://www.sellingproductsonline.info  and if you sell baseball cards and sports cards on Ebay, that is a great site to learn how to try to make money doing so.

This topic article will provide basketball updates for the current season, focusing on basketball cards as well as the site strives to help you find that special basketball memorabilia for your collection.  So far, both the basketball seasons for the NBA and for college basketball have begun, and there is excitment in those games daily.  It is difficult to instantly get excited about college basketball as far as basketball cards are concerned because there are no mainstream cards produced until the players become professional athletes. .

One thing I always like to focus on when assessing my collection and what cards I enjoy having in there (and purchasing if I do not have any of them) are rookie cards of basketball players who likely will be inducted into the hall of fame in future years.  Seeing the article about a recent Boston Celtics game was a strong reminder that Kevin Garnett is headed to the hall of fame.  Paul Pierce noted that he is a future hall of famer, and I would agree with that opinion because Garnett has put together many solid years of professional basketball experience.  Another player that I think is likely to be a first ballot hall of famer whenever he chooses to retire is Tim Duncan.  David Robinson also was a great player and Tim Duncan is right up there as far as being a contributer to a championship team and a player that has consistently put up all-star numbers.  Let us not forget about Kobe Bryant who has already, in my opinion, cemented his status of being a hall of famer as soon as he is eligible to become one.

Thus far in college basketball, taking a look a t the AP Top 25, it is currently headed by Kansas and Michigan State.  My favorite team is the UNLV Rebels, and they have received votes for the poll, though are not yet in the Top 25.  Syracuse made a huge leap into the Top 10 this week after not being ranked, and even received one first place vote.  Please note that I do not represent the AP nor college basketball nor the NBA.  I am just writing my observations.

As the season continues, it will be interesting to see who continues to perform well.  Please visit the home page of Sports Sites, so that you can see our interactive chat room, blog, articles from ABC and ESPN, and much more.

The following web sites and articles from sports will highlight various sports collectibles and things from my collection of cards.
